Teddy

Made in: 2015

My sona! He originally started out as a character made for a scrapped project (one of many, you can probably pick them out of the crowd of OCs I have). His inspirations were the "teddy bear" cholla, a small barbed cactus that will cling to things that touch it's spines in order to distribute itself. Him and his "relatives" were dropped in a desert centuries ago and with enough time and intense sunlight, gained sentience and chlorophyll. Teddy was the smallest but 2nd-oldest of a group of slimes who took on the identity of walking talking cacti. He was isolated from the group, being a night-owl with skin sensitive to the harsh daytime sunlight. Anyone who enters his circle doesn't just get to LEAVE, he has severe attachment issues and craves social interaction. He was intended to be the cute character people gravitate to, a comic-relief looking little shit that's silly externally but crushed by the fear of losing anyone around him internally. And that would manifest in sinking his barbs into people to stop them leaving. Which would've been a bad ending (unless you like that sort of thing, possessive fictional characters can be pretty hot!).

Or, that WAS the concept for him. Since becoming my online persona, he's taken on a vastly different personality from his original one. He runs the gamut of silly and serious but is about as expressive as he's always been. He borrows a lot of personality traits from me, so he's every bit as awkward and well-intentioned as I am. Most of the flaws you can see in current-day Teddy are things I struggle with too. He's a perfectionist, he fusses over how he explains himself, he worries if he comes across wrong, he worries over his word choices, he shuts down when there's too many people talking. Teddy is a lot of things, he's not perfect because I'm not perfect - but we aim for perfection because even a smidge less than it is still pretty good.

Bear

Made in: 2021-2022? Who can say.

Visually similar to Teddy but with a realistic approach to his personality. As a character, Teddy highlights a lot of my personal anxieties and mannerisms. I ended up making Bear because he better fit the voice of reason in my mind. When I rag on myself over things I could have done or things I've handled poorly, I feel like a different persona is depowering those reductive thoughts in my head. That persona is Bear, he's the one looking out for peoples' best interests and more lenient on people than they are to themselves. He's unapologetic and very in tune with going at a pace that suits him best.

B0TED

Made in: 2017

A custom-made robot ordered from a real expensive website that doesn't live to serve willingly. He actively resents having to do shit but he'll get things done eventually - with a lot of passive-aggressive attitude.

Deady

Made in: 2016/2017?

The unwanted qualities cast off by Teddy into a pile of lime-green sludge that's sad at it's own separate existence. Or he was supposed to be, but maybe it's for the best that he's just a fucked up bloodied slime that digs himself from the earth every Hallowe'en.

Marcus

Made in: 2013

A friendly guy who likes to study nature, take photos and get to know people. Marcus is in his mid 20's and is the oldest of Flora's kids. Somewhat gullible but is otherwise easy-going and honest to a fault. He loves to bird-watch, take photos and travel with his younger brother. Usually the tension-diffusing bodyguard to his younger brother when he runs his mouth around strangers.

Desmond

Made in: 2012/2013

A cheeky boy with an anxious disposition, sticky fingers and a hat full of goodies. Desmond is in his teens and is the youngest in the Flora family but isn't to be taken lightly. He loves cooking, gardening and sewing. Usually the one responsible for making sure whatever Marcus eats is edible, he has a keen nose and an eye for foraging.

A shattered plesson sex worker who's only really trying to keep it together for his daughter. He goes back and forth on whether he deserves to be in her life at all.

Mys

Made in: 2021

A conflicted teenager who's not really sure where she fits in. Has a love/hate relationship with her dad, Richard.

Barclay

Made in: 2022

An upbeat thief chased out of his hometown after being groomed by an older woman and blamed for infidelity. He shrugs it off anytime he's asked about it but it clearly still bothers him. Stuck to Richard like toffee after they met.

An incredibly tall elder angel with all the judgement and hostility of a homophobic white mother.

Tzun

Made in: 2015

A thoughtful young boy who loves flowers, sitting in the sun and bringing his best friend gifts from the places he's been. Likes to help but is regarded as an annoyance by his neighbors.

Tzuya

Made in: 2015

The unusual older brother of Tzun and also his guardian. He often goes fishing during the day, practicing his flute while he waits for fish to bite.

Merry

Made in: ?

A cautious young dragon that's the only survivor of her nestmates. She's begun frequenting the village for food, concealed well by the protections of her clouds.

Urama

Made in: 2018

A meek young boy born into a family desperate to be a higher social class than they are. His main company outside of family is in the books he reads. Always excited when Tzun visits.

Silvester

Made in: 2015

A solitary demon who enjoys his own company, likes to hunt and has spent years brewing potions. Keeps a close eye on the area to deal with invasive species but his house is regularly ransacked by Tzun. Grumpily carries the boy home but doesn't seem to confiscate anything he takes.

Riley

Made in: 2019

A bird-man courier who often works dangerous, highly-profitable jobs. He goes back and forth on whether the reward is worth the risk or not but loves the thrill of it, too.

Swade

Made in: 2020

A feral plesson who hisses at intruders and mauls anyone who doesn't take the hint.

Vivian

Made in: 2020/2021

A conflicted clown who slipped through the cracks and never course-corrected. Loves videogames, sex and finding secluded places to grafitti. Marcus seems to be one of the only people who sees the good in him, for better or worse. He's a regular victim of his Julius' expectations and anger since Neopolitan went missing.

Neopolitan

Made in: 2023

An assertive clown who had a budding career as a baker until taking the fall for their younger brother's crime. On the run with Gin in a stolen car, his plans of having a cafe-bakery are now as good as toast. Unless...? Nah, just kidding.

Julius

Made in: 2021

The aggressively-friendly host of Clown Town Amusement Park. They try to match the energy of anyone they interact with but most people find Julius terrifying and try to avoid him. Loves his children dearly but has taken out his frustrations on Vivian in recent years. Adores his old man cat, Grumblesnurf (for short).

Pon Pon

Made in: 2023

A smug, self-assured sentient plushie Neopolitan has known since childhood. He's only capable of saying "pon" but understands englyph just fine. Hard to read, he's often a loose cannon. Likes cars and diregarding the law.

Gin

Made in: 2024

A sweet mewman who loves hugs, painting and sunbathing. Was in jail for unknown reasons and slowly breaking under the weight of keeping up a tough-guy front until Neopolitan became his cellmate. Living life on the run with Neopolitan but is sorely missing his family.

Opaline

Made in: 2021

A silly clown that never grew out of his childhood love of playing games, rollerblading and watching gory movies. Works at the gender clinic in town. Used to date/torment Vivian but ultimately dropped him, he's been exclusively dating Fizz for the past few years now with no regrets.

Fizz

Made in: 2021

A laid-back clown who had been crushing on Opal since childhood. Before they ditched Vivian, the three of them would go out grafitting the town together. He goes back and forth on if he wants to keep working in construction or trying something new.

Pawneko

Made in: 2022/2023

A former soldier who now lives life as a general-purpose laborer. Some Pawneko soldier units also work as hired muscle, security and as police. They're very chatty but some guests find them a bit intense, even if they're friendly. Loves a good fight and is always itching to kick someone's ass.

Knightigre

Made in: 2023/2024

A quadruped army unit who is often seen working as a courier, taxi or emergency response unit these days. They're incredibly friendly and affectionate steeds, sometimes not even seen with a Pawneko riding them. Although most are fitted with squeakers, some have robot voice-boxes loaded with a diverse range of languages. The gentle giants love to help and are a favorite companion among residents.

An short entitled goat who only wants to break a light sweat at the gym, post pics of it online and see if anyone bites. His only takers were an introverted guy at the gym making sure he didn't crush himself using the weights.

Darren

Made in: 2019

A soft-spoken snake with a love for cooking, cars and exercising. He likes to learn all he can before approaching a new hobby.

Grey

Made in: 2019

A cat woman who is sick to bastard death of people destroying the rich history she's trying to study. Not a qualified archaeologist or an anthropologist but it hasn't stopped her so far.

Ash

Made in: 2019

A hunter for hire, she's an archer who mostly culls local animals and deals with nuisances. But she'll go after bigger targets, for the right price.

Arys

Made in: 2019

A deep-sea plesson with a haunting visage, sometimes seen near the water's surface. Tears up fishing nets for an easy meal but otherwise doesn't go near land-walkers.

Slick

Made in: 2020

A mermaug (mer-mog) with a taste for the finer things in life that a pond or lake just can't provide. Enjoys wine, getting to know land-walkers and finding new brooches for his collection.

Quark

Made in: 2020

An unusual entity that cloaks itself in the ruptured spacesuit of a former humanoid. It's not very good at pretending to be a person but anything to try secure another free meal.

Walls

Universe: Hisui (Pokemon Legends Arceus)
Made in: 2022

Like many of the people living there now, Walls first arrived in Hisui to flee the deadly conditions happening in Hoenn. He promptly got to work with Survey Corps work; helping with manual labor, farmwork and foraging efforts. The only people who know much of anything about Walls are Professor Laventon and a handful of Ginkgo merchants - since he's seen talking to pokemon more often than he talks to other people. Responsible for the discovery of Feebas in Hisui.

Husband

Universe: Astera (Monster Hunter World)
Made in: 2018.

His initial concept was that he was coming to the New World for it's big hunting opportunities and to support his family back home. He looks forward to getting mail from his kids, thought his wife doesn't really seem interested in keeping in touch with him. It's hard to say if that bothers him but he's been pouring his all into hunting and capturing monsters for the research team. He began helping with exploration of the Hoarfrost region after hearing there were newly-discovered monsters in the area, harder-hitters and bigger badder beasties to conquer.

Spritz

Universe: Earth (Splatoon)
Made in: 2024

Born and raised in the Splatlands, Spritz is a laid-back squid that gives an easy 60% effort at most things he does. He takes each day as it comes and isn't one for dwelling on negative shit or past experiences, much unlike his room-mate. Usually gives Seltzer a pep-talk and some love when he's been worn down by sponsorship rejections and lost matches.

Seltzer

Universe: Earth (Splatoon)
Made in: 2024

An incredibly competitive squid that lives in Splatsville with Spritz. He has his sights set on A rank but never finds himself able to reach it. Still lagging behind at D rank despite many hours of training and study, he tends to perform worse in matches than Spritz. Gets annoyed at opposing teams that hold back. Tends to take out his frustrations in salmon run shifts with Seltzer.

Barbit

Universe: Animal Crossing (New Horizons)
Made in: 2019

An unusual animal that looks like a rabbit but has sharp features like pointy ears. Barbit has a smug personality and an affinity for the minimalist furniture set, often pairing it with plank wood flooring. He likes plants, fruit and fish. Favorite K.K. Slider song is Animal City, his catchphrase is "pokey".
