I view pretty much all characters as switches (verse/versatile), so I'm not too specific about name order or top/bottom dynamics for the most part. The only times I end up with a preference it's usually because I see a dip in ships I like swapping the tops and bottoms. You gotta let the pretty boys top the macho men too, it's good for them!

ORIGINAL CHARACTER SHIPS

Marcus x Vivian

These two became an item sometime after Vivian started feeling excluded from a polycule between him, Opal and Fizz. Marcus had a puppy-crush on Vivian growing up and liked to spend time with him, lying in bed playing games together or seeing movies. Vivian was still hurting emotionally from not being Opal's favorite, so he was quite eager to have someone to lounge around with and talk to. They're long-distance but frequently keep in touch, meeting up in town together when they can and exchanging art and photos. They're clumsy, sweet lovers who are comfortably silly around each-other.

Or, they were. After the incident with Richard and Barclay, Marcus wasn't alive to respond to Vivian's usual messages. He spiralled hard, thinking he'd been ghosted or discarded again, then launched into sending Marcus hate-comments and dumping him. Vivian moved on begrudgingly but still aches for the former relationship. Marcus mourned the sudden end of the relationship but didn't wallow in sadness for long - as he had Richard reading Vivian's texts to filth to keep his spirits up.

Marcus x Richard

An unlikely pair! These two met during a failed robbery attempt that killed both of them. After a heart-to-heart in the afterlife, they slept it off pretty well. Richard initially stuck by Marcus until they were able to reunite with Desmond and Barclay but the two ended up far too fond of one-another to split ways. They're a classic optimist-pessimist pair, bringing out the good qualities in each-other. Marcus likes Richard's sense of humour and respects his insights, while Richard feels drawn to his pollyanna outlook on life and passion. Their relationship is marked with fondness, never "love".

Vivian x Opaline

Opal began fixating on Viv as early as nursery, as he was the most quiet person in the class and didn't really protest much when tormented. That dynamic didn't change much throughout the years, as Vivian thought he was really cute and would endure the overstimulation. They were in each-other's pockets as teenagers; often playing videogames together, watching movies, reading comics, torrenting music, finding weird niche porn on virus-filled websites and making out like frenzied animals. Sadly, Opal was starting to lose interest in Vivian some time after Fizz joined their relationship. Vivian still misses him dearly but the feelings don't seem to be mutual.

Apollo Justice x Klavier Gavin (Ace Attorney)

These two fuck me up, I love how much Klavier can wind up Apollo and how smug Apollo is towards Klavier when he gets a leg up on him. I can only imagine how conflicted Apollo feels about Klavier, too, since he's the spitting image of his former boss. Likewise, it makes you wonder if Klavier had any resentment towards Apollo for being the reason he's in prison. What must that feel like... to already have a very stark bias that haunts you when you first meet. But to then also be caught staring at each-other long enough with such focus that one of them goes "wow, I'm used to women looking at me but I haven't had a guy look at me like that before" (words to that effect). Do you understand why I'm not normal about these two? I need them like I need water. Eats me up how kind Klavier is towards Apollo, who often responds with such abrasion you'd think he's afraid of trusting another Gavin again or something! Ough, the boys...

Edgeworth x Gumshoe (Ace Attorney)

There's years of trust in this pair and they absolutely have each-others' backs, even if you've never touched the two Investigations titles it's very clear in the first trilogy. You'd think Gumshoe would work for someone else if his paychecks were threatened and docked so much but he's stuck with Edgeworth all this time, so it makes you wonder if the talks of "docking pay" isn't just a euphamism or something. I wouldn't have pegged Edgeworth as a potential dom but we know Gumshoe is great at getting whipped. Good for them!

Siffrin x Loop (In Stars and Time)

These two are naturally smug and silly on their own but even better when paired. For most of the time Siffrin knows Loop, he's very withdrawn and introverted and it's fun to see Loop be a complete bastard to them with scathing remarks and making fun of them for avoiding their own problems. They have some good banter and it is pretty good to see them able to have a go at one-another, asking questions and pulling the other one up on their bullshit. I'm a fan of wholesome, toxic and also mauling-each-other angles for these two. Who else are you supposed to trust and talk to if your companions are so far off the table they're outside the building? The mystery person under the tree who says you're allergic to pineapple and terrible at dealing with your emotions, of course! The self-loathing, pettiness and guilt is delicious.

Siffrin x Isabeau (In Stars and Time)

Put the two people who are very sweet, adorable and love puns and talking to each-other in a room together, see what happens!! I think these two compliment each-other really nicely. Siffrin tends to keep his feelings and problems to himself but expresses themselves with jokes and is fiercely protective of his companions. Meanwhile Isabeau is no stranger to expressing himself, having a laugh and trying to communicate when there's problems. They're both strugglers with emotions but Isabeau has a good read on how people are feeling emotions-wise and coping with their problems, I think they're incredibly sweet together. You know it's good when other characters are fucking BETTING on when Isabeau will confess to Siffrin. That shit is beautiful, we love when there is silent pining from BOTH PARTIES!!!!

Yu x Yosuke (Persona 4 / Persona 4 Golden)

This ship is is like a sleeper agent cell in my brain, it activates whenever it feels like it and I'm otherwise none the wiser to it outside of these times. Usually pops up when I see Persona 4 (or P4G) mentioned and then Yosuke's fear of being vulnerable and sensitive around Yu grabs me by the throat.

The fact that Yu can tease him is beautiful, I love seeing Yosuke flustered by him. It's part of that internalized-homophobia you'd see with games and their writing in the 2000s (you can see it with Lloyd x Zelos too!), where you get to see Yosuke conflicted about his feelings and at odds with how he thinks. This man is so afraid of potentially being gay or bi that it makes it all the more savory to see him work through it in fanworks; either by confronting it and Yu - who can be hard to read but otherwise seems reciprocative - or by trying to play it off as "just dudes being guys" and kissing your bros to practise so you're a master at it when it comes to dating girls. I will drink of the sweet yaoi ambrosia no matter the container it comes in.

Yosuke x Teddie (Persona 4 / Persona 4 Golden)

Not sure I really need to describe this one but you have a complete rapscallion of a blond man who's figuring out how to be a person living with a very-likely-bisexual guy who's still hurting over losing a crush. If you've read the above pairing, you probably know where this is going. Unlike Yosuke, Teddie doesn't really fear how he comes across and doesn't feel the pressure of trying to look and sound straight to people around him. Like Yu x Yosuke, this pairing has an open-minded flirt in it who would be reciprocative to "practice how to kiss girls". And I think that's beautiful.

Yu x Yosuke x Teddie (Persona 4 / Persona 4 Golden)

So if you've read the above two ships, you'd know that this is a prettyboy yaoi sandwich with some homophobia in the middle. I think Yosuke would be somewhat defensive of being part of a throuple at first cause if he's a gay or bi homophobe then what other social norms are weighing on this poor man's mind, y'know? I get the sense that Teddie would beg Yosuke to agree to it because it sounds fun and he's never tried dating before. Yosuke would likely only agree to it because Yu was part of it and it was pitched to him as a secret thing... Like a secret date-training club. xD

Colette x Zelos (Tales of Symphonia)

I love to think about the conversations these two have. Colette and Zelos are two sides of the same coin but have very different outlooks on how they should act and behave as their world's respective chosens. Under neath his facade, Zelos deeply respects and admires how strong and brave Colette is but there's a deep sense of sadness for her. And Colette likewise sees how others treat Zelos, not so much like a person but as a status symbol of prosperity - keeping the pain behind a mask of false happiness and humour. They both know and feel the weight of expectations on them but handle them in very different ways. I can see these two offering each-other sweet gestures, a shoulder to lean on and kindness. Get the sense that they would be protective of each-other - Zelos especially so.

Lloyd x Zelos (Tales of Symphonia)

These two have fun banter and I love seeing their dynamic change over time. The way you see Zelos' facade slip bit by bit the more Lloyd takes interest in him and wants to do things for him.. Oughhhhhh, it's like a cool glass of water on a hot day to me.

Brendan x Wallace (Pkmn RSE / Pkmn ORAS)

This ship is a childhood one and you couldn't rip it from my cold dead hands, either! I mostly loved this one initially because there's something really cute about a teen having a puppy-crush on someone older than them and just exploding in their head about getting to spend time with their crush. I like to imagine Wallace takes Brendan under his wing, seeing if a recent champion can become a popular idol in Pokemon Contests too.

Rei x Volo (Pokemon Legends Arceus)

Same sort of deal as Brendan x Wallace, to be honest! Budding crush on the charismatic salesman who's very pretty AND a deft hand in battles? But I also just get the feeling Rei is more inclined to trust Volo and less-so the people in Jubilife town, especially after they essentially banished him. I live for both the general wholesome angle of this and also the post-game toxic angle too. ;p

Kris x Spamton (Deltarune)

I'm fascinated by these two because the parallels but it's also just... Very funny to me. That either Kris or the SOUL (up to your interpretation) sees Spamton for the first time and goes "Let's befriend the creepy man who climbed out of a dumpster! Let's see if he wants to come to our town or join us". Just zero survival skills going on there, Kris themselves has either given up trying to take control of their life or maybe wants to see if Spamton actually will rip their annoying control-freak heart out.

Spamton x Tenna (Deltarune)

What the fuck do you MEAN THESE TWO WERE AN ITEM!!! Oh we're not going to be normal about this one for a long time, folks. I love both the cute toxic co-worker angle, the sweet sincere love angle AND the vindictive bitter-exes angle. It's great seeing these two together because they both share a lot of awkwardness, charisma and desperation. It comes across like a cartoon cat-and-mouse dynamic, these two. But I've also seen an interpretation of Tenna as a dog and Spamton as a cat by Hei3355 on Tumblr and I really liked that dynamic too! :)

Kris x Tenna (Deltarune)

I find it incredibly charming how much Tenna latched on to Kris, he's needy like a puppy but definitely capable of harm and hurt in spite of all the sweetness. He doesn't want to experience the isolation or the tension, he also doesn't want that isolation or tension for Kris. As much as he's selfish, I think he also sees Kris as a way to cope with what's happened - maybe even thinking Kris could benefit the same way by sticking by him. He's hurt after trying to learn Spamton's secrets and experiencing his disappearance, he's aching for anyone to stay with him and he still holds on to things from the past (physical or conceptual).
I think it's interesting too, considering what Kris knows about Spamton, that he was also bound by strings and not truly free. Would that change how Tenna feels, would he reject Kris for sympathizing with someone who he felt wronged him? Even if that person is someone you've known for years, someone who you've seen grow up, laugh and cry? Much to think about.

Kris x Spamton x Tenna (Deltarune)

Consider the three above and then mix all of it in together for something truly corrosive and amusing to witness. Watch two grown men fight bitterly over the person who is of most value to them - for entirely separate reasons! What could go wrong? :^)
